“The Editorial Director holds the voice of MATTE in their heart and hands. They are a masterful storyteller and collaborative partner who will lead all elements of Editorial for MATTE. They will work closely with many different teams, as well as external partners. They will be responsible for translating global marketing strategies into creative concepts and executions, with a focus on voice, copy and storytelling across all channels. As well as an internal source of creative and strategic solutions to help guide team members across disciplines. They will collaborate with MATTE’s stakeholders, Head of Strategy, Partnerships Director and other key members of the creative team to help unearth and develop transformative storytelling experiences that will shape and define MATTE’s brand and growth.”

MATTE BLACK

An orchestration of form, sound and culture. A new class of experience, BLACK has been uniting creative community to experience live music and art for over 10 years.

This year, MATTE Black took over Knockdown center for a two day experience at the intersection of music, design, technology and contemporary art. One to remember, BLACK 2022 was a sold out return to nightlife that garnered 180m+ impressions.

 

THE WORK

Conception and execution of tentpole marketing strategy and content including web3 component, proof of concept livestream, partnership activations, creative leadership across digital and print, partnership with external press agency, as well as oversight of content capture and tentpole media in collaboration with creative, production and post production teams.

 
 
  • As a part of MATTE’S web3 roadmap, the BLACK Badge was MATTE’s 001 drop, created with Originator Benjamin Gordon. A fully generative collection, with each NFT was an AI generated 1 of 1 with a limited batch of rare editions.

    The badge gamified the event, unlocking access to a livestream of MATTE Black, status in the MATTE ecosystem, and created a token of MATTE Black’s return after the past two years.

  • The Black Card is an all-access membership to the MATTE ecosystem – IRL, URL, and everything in between. Card holders will get SVIP to all future MATTE experiences, access to member monthly dinners, exclusive programming, and deals with our brand partners.

  • Limited edition merchandise was available onsite in partnership with Maxwell Osbourne’s anOnlyChild, available for virtual purchase via onsite “3D” portal screens, for either USD or blockchain currency.

 

 

MATTE.WORLD

 

WEB3 LAUNCH

MATTE.WORLD launched a new web3 vertical for MATTE, taking the renowned brand to the metaverse. A 360 roadmap included a community hub on Discord, IRL <> URL events, editorial and in-person programming, as well as a new partnership arm within the metaverse. Future plans include a creative fund, an explorable metaverse and land holdings, creative DAO and a tokenized ecosystem.
